Square & Cruciform Reserves
The modern standard. Square reserves offer faster opening times, incredible pendulum stability, and low sink rates.
Why Go Square?
Square (or Cruciform) reserves have air vents in the corners that create stabilizing jets of air.
- Stability: They descend vertically with almost no oscillation (swinging), making landing safer.
- Opening: They generally inflate faster than round reserves.
- Packing: Slightly more complex to pack than a round, but widely understood by riggers.
